Everyone needs a Sabbath,
a Sabbatical,
a Sunday
where the only weight you carry
is the rain falling outside
and the sound of your own sleep.
Agree is disagree with yourself
and hang out
between your own sheets,
listening to rest
rather than reason.
Reason manipulates your constructed laziness
and guilts your comfort
into anxiety,
like other people's expectations are the foundation of church,
making you question you commitment
to just being you.
So, yes, I needed more than a few hours
to collect my importance,
read the pages of unfinished books,
be okay with having nothing to do;
exhaling in clean water.
