Breaths Lie 10/10

Breaths lie,
they capture
exhaled moments
 and suspend them,
like teetering spiders,
on the nothingness
we share,
that familiar space
where the truth
drowns in the creases
of yesterday's sheets
and the warmth they bring.

Breaths lie
being still the sleuth
tinkering with perception
like a snow globe
on the edge of a window sill.

Breaths lie,
vacated fm your lungs
as if our time
is for rent and
check out was
looking at luggage
we never packed
on a journey
going nowhere.

Breaths lie
sleeplessly aching
for whatever is beyond
arrested development,
like peeping over the fence
and cringing at the fall.
