If Humanity 10/14

If humanity were important
Prisons wouldn't have populations.
They'd be idle, rustic remnants
Collapsing from under use
Waiting for recycling trucks
To gather those bricks for true education.
If humanity trumped money
no venture would be just business,
Addictions created for long term returns,
Where we don't exchange anything
Other than fallacy:
Commodifying our innerg until we forget
Our essence.
Stop buying BS.
Back Stabbing standards
reducing who we are to only the wrongs we've yet to do,
punitively plucking away the future we didn't choose?
Back Standing,
standing on our backs
profiting from the footprints in our flesh
while we stand back
harangued
by the noose of a freedman's ignorance
tighter than skinny jeans.
But Still,
empty words chain linking history/herstory
to weight this world still expects me to carry
and all I am is just tired.

 By Stopping,
you give yourself a moment of recollection,
piecing together your goods and your journey,
and real-eyes it's time
to tuck the dirty laces
don the grimaces
stand in between the traces
and stop by,
make your presence known,
rather than a passing image,
the corners and church houses,
barber shops and car washes,
city hall and high schools
until your name is CHANGE,
jingling in every person's pockets
ready to exchange
a little piece of me
for a greater peace in you.
